My Favorite Discipleship Resource

The Life of Jesus
I was once a deeply rooted in eastern religions and even some Occult practices. The material in the Life of Jesus pamphlet helped me to see who Jesus is from a different light than what I had previously known.

When doubts or the philosophies of man seek to move your faith away from these truths this pamphlet is a great help for you.

"Who is Jesus and how is he different from all other religious leaders? This question lies at the heart of the good news of Jesus Christ. In Life of Jesus, a 14-page full-color pamphlet, you'll see how Jesus and the New Testament writers answered this important question in their own words, and be able to answer questions from believers and skeptics about who Jesus really is.
14 panels, fits inside most Bibles, 8.5 x 5.5 inches, unfolds to 38 inches long.

In Life of Jesus, you will discover why Jesus came, what he taught, what he did-and why it matters now. Jesus asked his disciples in Matthew 16:13 who people were saying he was. Life of Jesus delves further into this question by exploring the following questions:
  • Who is Jesus?
  • What was his message?
  • Why did he come?
  • Why did he die?
  • What about the empty tomb?
Each question is followed by an explanation of what Jesus himself said in response to the question and what others have said as well. Life of Jesus will help you discover Bible verses that point to the true nature of Christ and understand how the seemingly complex ideas about Jesus Christ are formed from the Biblical text. You'll also find out what Jesus said about the topics of Love, God, and Eternal life!

Life of Jesus also includes a time line of Jesus' life that covers the important events in his life. A chart of key beliefs about Jesus presents the meaning, scripture that explains the belief, and the importance of the belief to the Christian. Life of Jesus is a wonderful introduction to our Savior or refresher for seekers, new believers, and life-long Christians."

Why Trust the Bible

In Today's Church you hardly ever hear a message or see a class offered  on this subject. It is however at the heart of every doubt, every lack of understanding and every wobbly Christian's faith.
If we do not trust the Bible to be what it says it is then how can we trust God who gave it to us as His creation and children?
What kind of Christian are we when we do not trust and do not study and read God's Word and begin to understand His plan for us?
Those who followed Jesus and believed in Him were first called people of the way and then called Christians or those who believed in and lived according to all that he began to do and teach.
Our faith and walk with God in the good and bad times will be more stable and overcoming when we learn why we can trust the Bible!
"Throughout history people have wondered, "What if the Bible was tampered with?" The bestselling Why Trust the Bible? pamphlet offers compelling and reassuring answers to these important questions: "Can the Bible be trusted?" "How were the stories passed down?" "How can we know that the Bible was copied accurately?" "Who chose the books in my Bible?" and "How reliable is the Bible?" Full color and glossy, this 12-panel pamphlet is an excellent teaching tool for new believers and for those who have questions about the Bible's origin.
Size: 8.5"x 5.5" unfolds to 33" long. Fits inside most Bible covers.
Popular books promote doubts about the authenticity and accuracy of the Bible. Some suggest that the Bible is an ancient document that has been edited so many times that it is now filled with errors. Why Trust the Bible? equips believers to defend assaults against the Bible and to defend the faith. In five important questions, the author addresses what the skeptics claim and what history actually tells us. A time line reveals the development of key writings, the emergence of the biblical canon, and more. This great reference tool proves that the Bible can be trusted!

Author Timothy Paul Jones, Ed.D., states without a doubt, "The Bible can be trusted." In clear, concise language, Dr. Jones reveals the errors in the critics' logic and facts —and does it in an easy-to-understand style using helpful charts, time lines, and explanations.
This pamphlet refutes the following claims:
  • The Gospels were written long after Jesus lived and were written by people who weren't eyewitnesses.
  • The stories about Jesus' life and death were not handed down reliably and not recorded accurately.
  • The Bible is full of textual errors, as proven by the Dead Sea Scrolls.
  • The New Testament wasn't finalized until hundreds of years after Jesus and his disciples, so there could have been many other "gospels" accepted and later rejected, in addition to the four Gospels found in the Bible today.
  • The originals of the Bible are lost; therefore, we have no way of knowing what it actually said.
  • The Bible was edited by people who had an "agenda" and changed many teachings.
Among the many sound reasons why we can trust the Bible are exciting facts such as:
  • Each of the four Gospels represents eyewitness testimony about Jesus Christ. For example, Mark's Gospel is Peter's testimony and Luke's Gospel is Paul's eyewitness accounts recorded by his physician, Luke.
  • Documents such as the Dead Seas Scrolls and Masoretic texts reveal that biblical texts agree nearly 99 percent of the time.
  • The 27 books of the New Testament that we have today were mentioned in a pastor's letter in AD 367, and were recognized before that date.
  • A time line shows the years of Jesus' ministry shown side-by-side with key writings reflecting witness testimonies.
Timothy Paul Jones is the pastor of First Baptist Church of Rolling Hills, a growing congregation on the outskirts of Tulsa, Oklahoma. In addition to bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biblical literature and pastoral ministry, Timothy earned a doctorate in educational leadership from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He received the Baker Book House Award for excellence in theological scholarship, as well as the North American Professors of Christian Education Scholastic Recognition Award for his doctoral work in the field of spiritual formation.

Why Trust the Bible was excerpted from Dr. Jones’s excellent book-length explanation of these attacks on Christianity and the reliability of the biblical texts,Misquoting Truth.
Key Words: why trust bible, books of bible, reliability of the Christian faith, why should I trust the Bible?'

  • Interesting information on the culture and times of Jesus Christ
  • What the people of Jesus' time expected from the Messiah
The Dead Sea Scrolls examines the discovery of the oldest known copies of portions of the Old Testament. These ancient documents confirm the accuracy of modern Bible translations, but what were they doing hidden in caves in Qumran? Who were the people who hid them there? What do these scrolls reveal about Jewish history, the Old and New Testaments and early Christianity? The Dead Sea Scrollsinvestigates the amazing discovery. Includes a map of the region, a time line, and photos of caves and parchment scrolls. Includes insights on the Isaiah Scroll and other key discoveries.

Some people make the mistake of believing that the Dead Sea Scroll are the originals of the Bible. In addition to leaving the scrolls with biblical passages in clay pots under floors and in caves, the sect also left a variety of other writings including their religious rituals, marriage contracts, and predictions of future events, among other documents.

Gospels Lost and Found

Are the Biblical Gospels Reliable?

Who really wrote the Gospels? Was it really Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John? Or were the gospels written by people who were utterly unconnected with eyewitnesses as some books and TV shows claim? Were the gospels written so long after Jesus' death and resurrection that they cannot be relied upon? Were there gospels that were included in the New Testament — and later removed? Why were these four books chosen and not others?
14 panels, fits inside most Bibles, Pamphlet is 8.5 x 5.5 inches and unfolds to 38 inches long

Gospels: "Lost" and Found gives solid reasons to trust the New Testament writings, and provides answers to Bart Ehrman's book Misquoting Jesus: The Story Behind Who Changed the Bible and Why. Author Timothy Paul Jones, Ph.D., shows where the critics are incorrect and provides us with a logical, well-reasoned arguments for believing that Jesus lived, died, and rose again—according to the Scriptures. Now is the time to discuss textual criticism, because critics are bringing this to the public debate and claiming that the Bible cannot be trusted. It is important help Christians become better informed — ready to "defend the faith."

Dr. Jones' interest in this topic began many years ago when he came across arguments against the Bible. At first his faith was badly shaken and he wondered if he still believed in the Bible. But as he researched more he found answers. In just fourteen concise pages, Dr. Jones shows the errors in critics' logic and facts —and does it in an easy-to-understand style.

Dr. Jones, professor at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, has received the Baker Book House Award for excellence in theological scholarship. He is author ofAnswers to the Da Vinci Code and Christian History Made Easy.

ARMOR IS NEEDED TO WITHSTAND THE EVIL DAY

“The soul is a castle which we are each one to keep for God. We have been warned that Satan will lay siege to it. The time when he intends to come with all his powers of darkness is that "evil day."
Since death is inevitable for every person, it behooves us, first of all, to prepare for this evil day in regard to our duty. Your faithful allegiance to God is what keeps you safe. Suppose a subject, entrusted with the care of one of his prince's castles, should hear a powerful enemy was coming to lay siege to the castle. Yet he took no precautions to lay in arms or provisions for its defense, and so it was lost. How could he be cleared of treason? Did he not through negligence betray his prince?
A soul is a castle which we are each one to keep for God. We have been warned that Satan will lay siege to it. The time when he intends to come with all his powers of darkness is that "evil day." Now in order to be found true to our trust, we must plan for our defense and equip ourselves for a vigorous resistance. We cannot, without shameful ingratitude to our God, waste those aids He provides for that evil day.
What would you say of a prisoner who was sent money for his release, but used it instead to amuse himself while in prison? This is in essence what we do when we take the talents God expects us to use in preparation for the hour of death, and instead bestow them upon our lusts. What profit will we find in our Bibles or our ministers if we do not use them to equip ourselves with God's armor?
In a word, why does God lengthen our days in the land of the living? Is it that we might have time to revel in the pleasures of this vain world? Are we to be chasing such butterflies as earthly riches and honor? It cannot be. Wise masters do not give their servants such tasks as will not pay for the candles they burn in doing them. And truly nothing less than glorifying God and saving our souls at last can be worth the precious time we spend here.
Prayer:. Father in Jesus name, ‘May we count each day a blessed opportunity to live for and in God!’

Why Trusting The Bible Is Imortant

Are you a follower a disciple of Jesus Christ? What do you believe and why do you believe it? Do you trust God? Do you trust the Bible? Why should you trust the Bible?

These are not academic questions but are at the heart of your life’s foundation as a Christian. We deal with the philosophies and ways of the World, the flesh and the devil everyday. If we are to be victorious we must trust God. We cannot truly trust God if we do not trust His Word the Bible. If we want our faith established on an unshakable foundation we must trust the Bible.

One of the battles every Christian is faced with in this information age is to properly discern which materials and philosophies to trust even within Christianity itself. If we are to workout our salvation with fear and trembling before God or determine how to live as a born-again believer who has been saved by God's amazing and undeserved grace toward us we must have a faith that allows not to understand everything but to trust in the one who is the creator of everything and the author and finisher of our faith.

We as people who lack God's omniscience, that we do not know everything, must have a foundation of trust in God, His teachings and the record of His dealings with mankind.

Why Trust the Bible offers 8 studies, which will help you to understand why you can trust the Bible. It Includes these pamphlets in chapters format.

Learn to put on the full armor of God when facing temptations and struggles. The key to this best-selling pamphlet is the insights brought by Paul's knowledge of a Centurion's armor. Having a correct picture in mind is important to accurately teaching and understanding this portion of Scripture. While many other illustrations of The Armor of God show armor from the Middle Ages, or other time periods, the Rose illustration presents historically accurate Roman armor. In a side-by-side fold-out format, The Armor of Godpamphlet describes each piece of armor, its historical background, and its application to our spiritual battles today.
The Apostle Paul knew how important it was for believers to understand the provision of spiritual armor that God made for them. Paul's teaching to the Church at Ephesus was born out of firsthand knowledge of Roman Centurions' armor. He saw them up close on many occasions.
The Armor of God pamphlet provides the following information:
  • A detailed description of the armor of God
  • Historical background on how the armor was put on and its purpose
  • The application of the armor to our lives today, such as how the "Belt of Truth" prepares believers to be truthful

  • The passage of Ephesians 6:10-18 verse-by-verse alongside an illustration of a Roman Centurion in full armor

  • A chart that helps believers stand firm in spiritual warfare by contrasting the "Devil's Schemes" with God's plan and the armor or weapon to combat it, and a Scriptural reference. For example: One of the Devil's schemes is LIES. God's plan/armor is Truth. Proverbs 14:25 would be a good reminder of God's plan
Armor of God pamphlet makes an excellent supplemental resource for these bestselling Christian authors titles:
  • Kay Arthur, Lord, is it Warfare? Teach Me to Stand: A Devotional Study on Spiritual Victory
  • Beth Moore, Armed for War, enhanced CD
  • Dr. Charles F. Stanley, When the Enemy Strikes: The keys to Winning Your Spiritual Battles.
